Wow! We've been crazy busy, and we're finally getting a chance to give you some updates!
Our semester was off to a great start with all of our new members eagerly attending rehearsal. For our first performance, Club Fair, we went out with a bang, performing our Let It Be/Hey Jude Medley. This helped us to gain more interested members in the club and thus we held mid-semester auditions. We took 12 brave souls under our wing and couldn't be happier with our decision!
Then, out of nowhere, BAM! We received an opportunity to audition for NBC's The Sing Off. If you don't know, The Sing Off is essentially like American Idol or The Voice, but for Acapella groups. It was an amazing opportunity, so of course we didn't pass it up! With a week to prepare, we worked hard and pushed ourselves, and though we won't be advancing to the next round we really enjoyed being a part of the whole process and meeting new groups.
Just this past week we Pledged Purple to help spread the word about domestic violence and support those who have been affected. We also volunteered at Sing For Hope, an amazing organization that provides music and arts to different communities who do not have such opportunities. We had a great time teaching high school students some of our songs and then performing it with them! They were a great group of talented individuals and we hope to work with them again sometime soon!
Finally, as the semester goes on we are getting ready for our Winter Concert, and we have a few things up our sleeve, so stay tuned for more updates!
Until then,
